Well, that didn’t take long.
On Saturday (4/13) morning, a Drake song tentatively called “Push Ups (Drop And Give Me 50)” surfaced online that found The Boy taking aim at everyone who’s been shooting at him recently. Mainly focused on Kendrick Lamar (in response to his “Like That” verse), the diss track also found Future, Metro Boomin, The Weekend, and Rick Ross catching strays.
In regards to Rick Ross, Drake raps, “I might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky/ Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this ni**a turnin’ fifty/ Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy/ Spend that lil’ check you got and stay up out my business.”
Not one to back down from a fight, Ross wasted no time issuing a response. A few hours after the “leak” hit the internets, Rozay had already released a response record.
Seemingly called “Champagne Moments,” the track features three verses and bunch of sh*t talking mixed in that revolved around Drake stealing Lil Wayne’s flow, getting a nose job, a tummy tuck, and plenty more.
UPDATE: The track, officially called “Champagne Moments,” is now available on all streaming services.
From there, the back and forth on social media began, with Drake sharing a text message from his mom addressing the nose job claim.
No, seriously…
Ross, a comedian in his spare time, took to IG and cracked a few jokes of his own. Calling Drake everything from “BBL Drizzy” to “White Boy.”
What’s next?! Man, who knows… but I’m all for the excitement these guys have been injecting into the rap game. Let’s keep it going.
