T'Myh B Makes Falling in Love Fun Again with Latest Single ‘Honey’

Singer and songwriter Tamiyah Alexis Brown—known as T'Myh B—is doubling down on love with an upbeat single about taking the first step. “Honey” showcases T'Myh B’s powerhouse vocals paired with her ability to bring words to life.

Born Tamiyah, T’Myh B incorporated her stage name as a reflection of who she aimed to be. “I picked a name at first that was a mashup of my middle name and first name,” she explains. “But that name didn’t feel right. So, I started to think about who I wanted to be as an artist. I want to be myself. I don’t have to change my name and be somebody new—I’ll simply be T’Myh B. Be with a dot. Just be.” This is the message T’Myh B hopes to send to listeners through her art: just be yourself.

Growing up in Alabama, T’Myh B was very shy, yet she mustered the courage to sing in the church choir with her mother and aunt. “We always sung acapella. I started singing background and blossomed into singing solos,” she adds. “From there, I grew into taking piano lessons in high school.”

Pursuing music wasn’t where T’Myh B saw her life going at that point. In fact, she had her eyes set on being a nurse. “Nursing didn’t bring me fulfillment,” shares T’Myh B. “So, I started writing songs. Originally, I wanted to be a ghost writer and write from the perspective of other artists. But then I shared my music with my friends and family, and they said, ‘you need to sing your own stuff.’ I countered that I didn’t want to sing in front of people… but then one day, I wrote a song from the heart.”

What happened next was a collaboration with a friend who invited T’Myh B to record at a proper studio. The only person who was surprised at the outcome was T’Myh B herself--everyone else knew she had it in her. “I shocked myself, really,” she jokes about the experience.

From that point on, T’Myh B began investing in her craft, writing more songs. “I grew my lyricism. My voice got better. It just grew from there. My passion grew, my love grew, my enthusiasm grew,” shares T’Myh B. Blending R&B/soul, hip-hop, and pop elements, T’Myh B perfected her own sound.

“Honey” is T’Myh B’s latest single. The song originates from being in love and all the emotions that follow. “I was in love at the time,” shares T’Myh B of her songwriting. “All my music comes from experience and the things I’ve been through. It’s a release of emotions. I was in love and wanted to write a story.” While searching for the beat to convey those emotions, T’Myh B stumbled upon one called “Honey,” and the single unfolded before her.

“I played off the word ‘honey.’ The lyrics came to be because I wanted to expand on that and write from a girl’s perspective of her telling the guy. You always see a man approaching a girl. But this does something different. It’s about feeling good. You can be the girl, or you can be the guy. It doesn’t matter—approach him or her. You can be the person to approach.”

T’Myh B hopes “Honey” will make listeners feel good about being in love—maybe they’ll even have the courage to go up and talk to the person they feel a connection with. “I want them to be inspired by love,” adds T’Myh B. “We often hear sad love songs but not ones that lift you up.”

The artist’s approach to songwriting is fairly standard. First, T’Myh B sources a beat and (hopefully) find one that sparks an emotion. In the case of “Honey,” the instrumentals gave T’Myh B a good feeling. The songwriting came naturally. “It just flowed,” adds T’Myh B. “One word made it all flow. I feel like it’s important to pick beats like that—the story comes to you. I didn’t pick the story; it came to me.” Working alongside her producer, Mali, T’Myh B finalized the song shortly after.

At the end of the day, T'Myh B wants the world to know that music is her passion, her release, her therapy. She hopes that by sharing her music with the world, her music can help someone the way the music of other artists helped her.

FP Relly releases one-two punch of hip-hop songs in “Enjoy the Life/Fast Money” off his newest album Perseverance Vol. 1.

Atlanta based rapper FP Relly has just dropped a brand new one-two punch of songs, complete with a music video, that will show how he enjoys life and strives to get that bag.

“Enjoy The Life/Fast Money” is a two-for-one track release that shows “you can really invest only how much you put in,” FP Relly said. “You really need money to elevate.”

The “Fast Money” segment of the release was a freestyle and the beat was up-tempo, so he was thinking about how he was making money quickly and letting loose on the vocals. He is incredibly proud of the tracks, saying that the flow was amazing and the production quality was as good as it gets.

“I really put a lot of feeling into it, and that’s where I put out my best,” he said. “It got a lot of people’s attention. I can say that, for sure.”

The video depicts him on a beach, enjoying life and all that it has to offer. It has a wide range, from hanging in front of a gas station to shooting hoops or blasting around in a flashy car at night. Life and money both move fast.

His music is inspired by what is going on in the moment. When something pops up, he can make a song out of it. He said if something upsets him or makes him happy, he can think about what he wants to talk about over a beat. He started off writing but it wasn’t until he moved from St. Louis to Atlanta, in 2020, that he started really getting serious about rapping and freestyling.

“If I’m in the studio and we pull up a beat, I can just freestyle on the fly,” he said. “But when I can sit down and write, I stay on the subject and produce a better song.”

This two-track combo is all part of his third mixtape, called “Perseverance Vol. 1,” which speaks to what he is all about.

“I think I am the definition of perseverance,” he said. “I was from St. Louis, which is really an unknown place. Nelly made it out, but it’s really hard to make it out of there. Nobody’s doing what I’m doing that is from St. Louis. I overcame a lot of stuff, survived a lot of stuff, and I’m only 22. I’m still persevering as we speak, accomplishing while still overcoming obstacles.”

He said St. Louis is very confined to its own area, unlike , where he could network, meet people and spread his wings. FP Relly said it’s not only a much friendlier environment, but also that the move to Georgia has been more conducive to his style as it has been a move to the “home of hip-hop.”

“There’s a lot of money flowing in the streets of the city for people who just want to network,” FP Relly said. “They want to make it out as well. I got a good clean face here, and it’s all about business. I want everyone to know I’m a businessman and I’m all about my money. I’m a cool dude with a kind heart, and I’ve got good intentions. Let’s get some more money.”

“Perseverance Vol. 1” is 14 tracks spanning 34 minutes, and FP Relly recommends people listen to every song and vibe with him. It is one of those albums to listen to from top to bottom to find some gold.

Music runs in FP Relly’s blood. He says he is influenced by his pops and his brother, who have also been in the rap game. Much of the circle he surrounds himself with are musicians. The 22-year-old started getting into rapping after being part of a rap video shoot, and he has just gone for it since.

“I had it naturally in me, but basically I just started writing,” he said. “And I had the voice for it. I’ve got a nice flow and I can bounce on the beat. I really just be talking about what I see, or what I see happening in the future.”

FP Relly said he is always the first one to wake up and get to it, and this drive continues in his musical career. He’s happy with the production and says it is something that jumps out as some of his best work to date.

“My flow has gotten much better,” FP Relly said. “ I just keep getting better at my craft.”
