Pomona, CA - Kendrick Lamar has been spotted filming his first-ever movie with South Park co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

A video that surfaced on social media on Monday (September 30) appeared to show K. Dot and co. shooting scenes for the upcoming live-action comedy in Pomona, California.

While the project is largely being kept under wraps, various details have come out since it was first announced almost three years ago.

The as-yet-untitled film will “depict the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his,” according to a synopsis.

Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Paramount which owns the distribution rights to the movie, described it as “one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read and it’s certain to create some fireworks” at CinemaCon earlier this year.

Handling writing duties is longtime South Park writer, producer and voice actor Vernon Chatman, who has also worked with Killer Mike and Snoop Dogg on Trigger Warning With Killer Mike and Doggie Fizzle Televizzle, respectively. He was also a writer for The Chris Rock Show.

Parker is directing the film while Stone, Kendrick and his longtime collaborator and fellow pgLang co-founder Dave Free are on board as producers.

It is not yet known if the Compton rapper, who has previous acting experience in 50 Cent’s Power series, will star in the flick.

No other casting information has yet been revealed, although fans can expect the movie to hit theaters on July 4, 2025.

Kendrick has worked with Stone and Parker in the past for his “The Heart Part 5” music video in 2022.

The South Park duo worked on the deepfake technology present in the clip, which saw Kendrick morph into a number of famous figures such as Kobe Bryant, Will Smith and OJ Simpson.

In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, Stone revealed there was one deepfake which did not make the cut: “You see Kendrick turned into 2Pac, Kendrick turned into Kanye, and I think we had Eminem.”

Liam Gallagher jokes about joint Blur tour, fuels speculation of Manic Street Preachers or Richard Ashcroft supporting Oasis

Liam Gallagher has been teasing fans about who the support will be for the upcoming Oasis reunion tour dates in the UK.

Fans have been speculating who will be opening for the Britpop legends on their highly-awaited reunion shows after it was reported last month that Liam was seeking “established acts” to support them on tour. So far, support has only been announced for the North American leg, which will see Cage The Elephant join for all dates – visit here to buy tickets.

Various names have been flying around since the band confirmed their comeback, and earlier in the year, when a fan on X/Twitter asked if Richard Ashcroft would be supporting Oasis at their 2025 live showsLiam replied: “That would be BIBLICAL”.

Now, Liam’s once again taken to Twitter/X to fan the flames of fan rumours, further suggesting Ashcroft will be joining the bill, but also teasing that Blur and Manic Street Preachers may be heading out on the road with them.

Responding to one fan suggesting Damon Albarn and co. should open for them, Liam wrote about his former Britpop rivals: “I love blur and at sone point we have to do n old dears tours.”

Later, he seemed to ask fans to weigh in, writing: “Richard Ashcroft or Manic street preachers as support”, before adding shortly after: “the manics it is”.

However, he went on to write: “Only kidding we never set sail without the 1 and only RICARDO he’s our boy from day DOT come aboard Rkid.”

Ashcroft has a long history with Oasis, serving as the inspiration behind their 1995 hit ‘Cast No Shadow’. During a Select interview that year, Noel Gallagher said: “I always felt he was born at the wrong time and in the wrong place, and he was always trying to say the right things, but they came out wrong.”

He also enlisted Liam for a collaboration on his 2022 hit ‘C’mon People (We’re Making It Now)’, and appeared as a special guest when he headlined Finsbury Park in 2018.

Meanwhile, Manic Street Preachers supported Oasis during their iconic Knebworth 1995 shows. The band also teased new material in August, sharing a clip of new music on their social media and leading fans to think they could be enlisted again for the upcoming shows.

Elsewhere, Blossoms recently spoke to NME about the possibility of supporting the Britpop legends. The Tom Ogden-led band have just released their fifth album ‘Gary‘, which saw a gaggle of famous Garys unite to promote the record. Ogden has said that “nothing has been discussed, nothing has been asked,” adding: “I don’t think they’ll sort it out until next year.”

Oasis initially began teasing their reunion following Liam Gallagher’s headline set at Reading Festival by sharing a mysterious date on their screens. Blossoms also shared the same teaser on their big concert screens as Liam and Noel at their Wythenshawe Park gig, prompting speculation that they might have something to do with the reunion.

“I’d like to think our name might be in the mix because why not?,” he continued. “We’ve never shied away from saying how much they’ve influenced us. We went to watch them at Heaton Park when we were 16, and we kind of know them both.

“I’m not going to get my hopes up, though, because, at the end of the day, it’s up to them. If we get asked, the bags are packed, and we’d smash it.”
