Cam'ron Questions 50 Cent About 'Devious' Move During Their Feud

Cam’ron and 50 Cent have revisited their past beef, with the Dipset rapper asking his former foe about a “devious” stunt he pulled during their late 2000s feud.

While interviewing 50 on his YouTube show Talk With Flee, Killa Cam quizzed the G-Unit boss about the time he brought out Jim Jones and Juelz Santana at a show in New York City in 2007 — a move that Cam took as an act of betrayal from his fellow Diplomats.

“We were having interior problems at Dipset. Nobody knew about this, nobody knew that we were not on the same page,” he explained. “So when me and [50] were battling, you had members of Dipset to come to your show.

“I was sitting there like, ‘This n-gga’s kinda smart ’cause I wouldn’t have thought about reaching out to [Tony] Yayo or Lloyd Banks.'”

Cam added that he was hoping to fix Dipset’s issues before their rift went public or escalated any further, until he saw Jimmy and Juelz perform with his then-rival.

“When n-ggas went on stage, I was like, ‘This shit is spinning out [of control]. It was a checkmate moment,'” he admitted. “I said, ‘This n-gga’s devious.’ But I respected it, I liked that shit [laughs].”

Cam’ron then asked 50 how he came up with the idea to lure his closest allies away.

“I just took the shot ’cause I wasn’t sure [Jim Jones] was going to go for it. I was like, ‘We like Jimmy better than you anyway, Cam!'” he said in a comical voice, prompting the room to erupt in laughter.

Narrowing his eyes as if gauging somebody’s reaction, he continued: “You gotta watch and see how he responds. And then you see, ‘Aw shit, he really likes that!’ Tell him, ‘We want you at the show, Jim!’

“That was one of those things where I just threw it out and see what would happen. And he bit.”

Cam’ron later recalled how his beef with 50 Cent, which saw them trade diss songs and comical YouTube videos, almost landed him in hot water with his probation officer.

“My probation officer was like, ‘Come down to probation or we gonna lock you up.’ I’m like, ‘What the fuck I do?'” he remembered.

“New York City Intel was there. They said, ‘What’s going on with you and 50 Cent?’ I said, ‘It’s some music shit. What the fuck are you talking about?’

“They said, ‘Well, it seems like it’s more than that.’ I said, ‘Yo, he puts people out of business. I gotta respond!’ Then one officer was like, ‘Yeah, he does, man.'”

50 Cent previously admitted regret over his feud with Cam’ron, as well as those he had with Fat Joe and Jadakiss around the same time.

“Look, I think we wasted too much time arguing, me and Fat Joe, me and Cam’ron. There’s other guys like Jada[kiss], we cleared it up easier,” he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year.

“But we wasted time because it was just the competitive nature. It wasn’t like we crossed paths and had real heat for each other.”

Young Thug Appears To Diss "Rat" Gunna On New Song Snippet

image

Young Thug is cooking up. The rapper has been hard at work since his release from jail, and it sounds like fans are about to reap the benefits. Thug has not put out any new music in the months since he was made a free man. He has, however, been teasing pieces of songs via social media. Thursday, January 2 proved to be a huge day for Young Thug fans. He treated fans to not one but two snippets of new songs. The first was a teaser of his Future and Lil Baby collab, "Dum, Dumb and Dumber." The second was an untitled song that came with a blatant diss.

Young Thug posted the second snippet to his Instagram. The rapper can be seen vibing out to the song, which features aggressive bars over a spaced-out instrumental. "Never associate with a rat," Thug raps. "Go and get some money, get a pack." He doesn't mention anybody by name, but the comment section quickly filled up with theories about Gunna. Young Thug and Gunna had a pretty high profile falling out, with many theorizing that Gunna snitched on his YSL boss. The snippet marks the first time Young Thug has spoken about "rats" since his release from jail.

Young Thug Claims To Not Associate With "Rats"

The rapper is not alone is his disdain for an unnamed "rat." Lil Baby, who will feature Young Thug on his new album, WHAM, expressed a similar sentiment during a Safe Place podcast appearance. He told Lil Yachty that he makes a point of not working with artists that he considers to be snitches. "It boils down to what we rapping about," Lil Baby explained. "We can't rap about that if you did that. If I was making Christmas music, then I don't give a damn what you did."

Interestingly enough, Gunna was one of the few artists Young Thug requested to work with after he was released from jail. Thugger's lawyer, Brian Steel, claimed Gunna was a "phenomenal artist" and that the duo "frequently perform music together." The lawyer also noted that Thugger and Gunna were obligated to work together from a contractual standpoint. This request makes the rapper's bar about "rats" a bit confusing. Either the rapper still feels a type of way about Gunna, or he's referring to someone else as a "rat" in his music. Time will tell.
