LIL WAYNE'S EX-WIFE & DAUGHTER GET THEIR OWN REALITY TV SERIES

Lil Wayne‘s former wife Toya Johnson-Rushing, along with his eldest daughter Reginae Carter, are currently in production for their own unscripted reality show.

Variety reports AMC Networks’ WE TV has greenlit a new series called Toya & Reginae, starring the ex-wife and daughter of the New Orleans Hip Hop legend. The new unscripted show is a continuation of WE TV’s popular Growing Up Hip Hop franchise, which Johnson-Rushing and Carter have both been involved in.

According to the network’s recent press release, the new show will pull back the curtain into the lives of the high profile mother-and-daughter duo, proving that “as happy as they seem on social media, their lives are unpredictable and full of chaos.”

Toya & Reginae will air this fall exclusively on WE TV and sister steamer ALLBLK. “I’m so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you’ve seen us last,” said Johnson-Rushing in a recent statement.

On Wednesday (April 19), Toya shared a post from WE TV about the upcoming series on her Instagram Story. Earlier that day, the network had uploaded a photo of the mother-and-daughter duo, with the caption: “We are happy to announce that @toyajohnson and @itsreginaecarter will return to @wetv and @watchallblk soon with their new series #ToyaAndReginae.”

There is also an order for a scripted drama titled Bev is Boss, based on the life of Deb Antney, the mother of Waka Flocka Flame and legendary music management mogul. Antney has been credited with breaking the careers of high-profile artists such as Gucci ManeFrench Montana, and Nicki Minaj as the founder and CEO of Mizay Entertainment.

In the scripted series, Antney’s journey from a girl growing up in Queens to becoming an accomplished manager is explored.

In other Lil Wayne news, Swizz Beatz recently previewed a new JAY-Z and Lil Wayne collaboration he has in the works from his upcoming EP.

The legendary producer teased the single on Instagram earlier this week, announcing that it will drop on Friday (April 21) as part of his Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 project.

“SWIZZ X WAYNE X HOV THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE DROP 4/21 off my new EP,” Swizz wrote in his caption. “Life begins at the end of your comfort Zone Let’s Go! Happy Monday! Updated EP track list coming soon!!!!! It’s on…..”

This will be the first time the trio has joined forces on one song together, but it’s far from the first time Swizz has worked with either Hov or Tunechi.

Swizz most notably linked with JAY-Z on his Blueprint 3 cut “On To The Next One,” while he connected with Weezy on Tha Carter V track “Uproar” as well as his latest single “Kant Nobody,” which is set to appear on the sixth installment in his iconic Tha Carter series.

Watch Flavor Flav Ring the New York Stock Exchange’s Closing Bell & Send the Gavel Flying Into Crowd

image

Flavor Flav knows how to work his way around a clock, but maybe don’t let him get a gavel in his hands. The lesson was learned when the Public Enemy rapper joined U.S. Women’s Water Polo Team goalie Ashleigh Johnson at the New York Stock Exchange on Monday (Sept. 9).

That’s when Flav got a bit overzealous with the gavel when attempting to ring the closing bell, which saw him lose control of the hammer and accidentally send it into the crowd. “FLAVOR FLAV::: They said it was good luck if I hit it hard,” he captioned his Instagram post.

Fans hit the rapper with jokes in his comments section after he nearly decked an onlooker with the gavel. “Is catching the gavel from flav akin to catching the bouquet at a wedding,” one person asked. Another added, “Opening the stock exchange?! What happened to fighting the power?”

The 65-year-old hadn’t had the opportunity to be at the NYSE in his career, and he basked in the honor after watching it on television all these years.

“This means the world to me right now to be here at the Stock Exchange,” Flav added. “The only time I ever seen it was on TV. Now I get to be here part of it. Yeah, boy!”

Flavor Flav signed a five-year sponsorship deal with the U.S. Women’s and Men’s Water Polo Teams, for whom he served as the hype man at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His sponsorship came with a $1,000 check to each player and a cruise voyage for the women’s team.

It’s a busy week running around the Big Apple for Flav. After stops at the U.S. Open tennis championship and the NYSE, the New York native is slated to appear at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday (Sept. 11).

Watch some of the highlights from his NYSE trip below.
