Pamela Anderson has praised Beyoncé after the musician paid homage to Anderson’s character in Baywatch in a new video.
Yesterday (November 5), Beyoncé shared a new video for her song ‘Bodyguard’ in which she urged her fans to vote in the US presidential elections.
The official visuals for the ‘Cowboy Carter’ track saw the singer pay homage to Anderson’s character C.J. Parker from Baywatch.
Titled ‘Beywatch’, the clip includes a scene in which Beyoncé fires a bang flag gun that displays the message: “VOTE!” The video ends with the star wishing viewers a “happy Beylloween”, before telling them to “vote” once again.
Bey dons an Anderson-style blonde wig in the vintage-looking visuals, and wears the signature red swimsuit from the classic TV series. Beyoncé also shared an image from the video on Instagram, to which Anderson commented “LOVE” with a heart emoji.
On her own Instagram Story, Anderson shared an image of Beyoncé too, adding a heart emoji and writing: “Don’t call me bey…” alongside a kiss face emoji.
Last month saw the singer endorse Democratic nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally supporting reproductive and abortion rights. The event was held in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, Texas.
She appeared alongside her mother Tina Knowles and her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland at the event.
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” Bey said. “Imagine our grandmothers, imagine what they feel right now. Those who have lived to see this historic day.
“Even those who are no longer physically with us – imagine all of their sacrifice, the sacrifices made so we can witness the strength of a woman standing in her power, reimagining what leadership is.”
She continued: “We must vote, and we need you. Your voice has power and magnitude, your vote is one of the most valuable tools and we need you. your freedom is your god-given right. Your human right.”
Beyoncé had previously personally approved Harris’ use of ‘Freedom’ – from her 2016 album ‘Lemonade’ – as the official anthem for her presidential campaign.
Harris began walking out to the song over the summer when she made her first public appearance since President Joe Biden announced that he would be dropping out of the 2024 presidential election, and endorsed Harris to run in his place.
Harris later shared her first presidential election campaign video, soundtracked by ‘Freedom’. In the clip, Harris posed the question: “What kind of country do we want to live in? We choose freedom.”
Today (November 6), Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House for a second term after earning well over the 270 seats needed to become President once more. The entertainment world have been reacting to the news throughout the day- read more about this here.
