SHERELLE has announced an upcoming live show in London, with ticket prices capped at just £10 each.
Taking place at the Roundhouse venue in the UK capital on April 11, the performance will come as a one-off show for the electronic producer and DJ – as well as being her biggest headline show to date.
Titled ‘SHERELLELAND’, the event aims to be “a night of the best forward-thinking and uncompromising music for ‘bocats on a budget’”, and will land in Camden as part of Roundhouse Three Sixty.
To make the event more accessible for fans, both the artist and venue organisers have teamed up to enforce a price cap on tickets – with each costing only £10.
According to a new press release, the idea was born out of “frustration of the cost of living crisis and expensive ticket prices”, and hopes to make exploring Jungle, Breaks and Footwork more accessible for fans.
Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased here.
The Roundhouse show announcement comes just days before SHERELLE is due to play the upcoming sold-out show at Village Underground in London. Taking place this Friday (November 22), the gig follows a run of UK and European dates from earlier this year.
As well as announcing the 2025 date, the artist has also dropped a new single called ‘MEET ME AT THE TEMPLE’.
Created in collaboration with UK jungle artist CLIPZ, the new 160bpm anthem was first aired during SHERELLE’s closing set at this year’s edition of Glastonbury over the summer.
It also marks her first new track since she dropped ‘HENRY’s REVENGE’ last winter.
“I’m super happy to have a tune out with CLIPZ. I’ve been following him as a fan for years, so it’s an honour to have this one out,” the artist said of the collaborative track.
CLIPZ added: “SHERELLE ‘n me went in the lab, talked about ‘r love for early jungle & hardcore ‘n rolled this trax out after.” Check it out below.
SHERELLE isn’t the only artist to be imposing a new price cap when it comes to upcoming shows.
Last week, it was confirmed that Benefits would be reducing the cost of their tickets for their upcoming UK tour dates – as well as introducing a 10pm curfew.
The move was done to reduce the costs of seeing live music for fans, as well as enable fans to travel to and from the gig using public transport instead of more expensive modes of transport like taxis.
“Costs are spiralling and venues are closing but we’ve got to try something. Small venues are magic, as are small bands – we can’t just be left to rot,” they said.
The actions made by Benefits and SHERELLE come weeks after a report was shared by NME, highlighting how the touring circuit across the UK’s grassroots music scene is said to be facing “complete collapse” without urgent help.
At the start of the year, it was shared that 2023 was the worst year on record for grassroots spaces, with 125 grassroots music venues shutting their doors.
Recently, the Music Venue Trust (MVT) argued that a tidal wave of closures threatens the fabric of the UK music scene thanks to the recent budget announcement. One of the concerning statistics they pointed out was that £7million in new premises taxes will place over 350 grassroots music venues at immediate risk of closure. This would threaten more than 12,000 jobs, over £250million in economic activity and the loss of over 75,000 live music events.
Others making efforts with their live shows to protect the UK’s live music sector include Coldplay, Enter Shikari, Katy Perry and Sam Fender, who have all adopted a levy of their own on huge tours to help save the grassroots spaces.
