Shueisha introduced MANGA MILLION on Aug. 6, launching a worldwide online reading platform in celebration of its centenary. Around 400 manga series are available in more than 100 translated languages, giving international readers free access to a total of one million pages for a limited period. Users in Japan will only be able to view certain material.
Readers do not need an account to use the platform, which is expected to remain open until December 2027 ends. Its catalog covers shonen and seinen series such as ONE PIECE, which appears in 107 languages, alongside NARUTO, BLEACH, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kingdom, OSHI NO KO, SPYxFAMILY and Chainsaw Man. More than 150 shojo and josei works are also included, among them NANA and Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You. Professional translators prepared every edition, while around 300 works are becoming available in English for the first time. Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic and Korean are among the more than 100 supported languages.
Around the middle of August, MANGA MILLION will introduce “near-simulcast” releases for approximately 30 active series. New chapters will arrive about two or three weeks after appearing in Japan, while ONE PIECE will be provided in 96 languages through this program.
Since the platform mainly serves readers outside Japan, only part of the library will be accessible within the country. Japanese users can view ONE PIECE volumes 1 through 12, covering the “East Blue” storyline, in all 107 languages. They will also have access to interview articles in English featuring the author and publishing companies from several nations.
