Miley Cyrus Reveals Release Date for New Album Bass Persuades

Miley Cyrus is set to unveil her next album, Bass Persuades, later in September.

The 33 year old performer, who will professionally use the name Miley moving forward, has confirmed when her tenth studio project will arrive, leaving fans with only a short wait.

She announced on Instagram: "My tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, is yours September 18th."

Miley explained that the record's name reflects how music can feel "powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong".

She elaborated: "Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.

“Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.

"Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”

The Wrecking Ball singer will mark the project's arrival with a pair of Hollywood Bowl concerts on October 16 and 18.

Sharing the news in another post, she wrote: "It's been a while.

"The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists.

"I've sat in those seats many times, but I've never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I'm bringing it home.

"See you there."

In 2025, Miley revealed that she no longer had any "desire" to go on tour.

At the beginning of this week, the musician updated her social media usernames to simply read "Miley" and uploaded a fresh photograph accompanied only by her first name.

She has not offered a reason for the decision, although it arrives as she gets ready to share new material following a recently signed agreement with Atlantic Records.

Miley has already indicated that romance will play a major role throughout the project.

Speaking with actress Daryl Hannah for Wonderland magazine, she said: "This album is a love story, but love stories are never one-dimensional. They’re always layered.

“There is definitely a romantic thread weaving through it because, like all my records, it’s a reflection of where I am in my life.

"But this one feels especially meaningful because this feeling has stayed with me through multiple eras. That’s something I hadn’t really experienced before.

"A peaceful kind of love has become a theme across my last three records. Not just the love I share with someone else, but the love I’ve found form myself."

Miley is also grieving the loss of her godmother, Dolly Parton, who passed away at 80 last week.

Reflecting on Instagram, she wrote: "The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour and between our hearts.

"What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis."
