Fans of Nicki Minaj have been praising star Jenna Ortega for rapping to her hit ‘Monster’ on the way to the Met Gala.

The Wednesday actor was filmed putting the finishing touches to her look for the annual fashion event: a metallic outfit that was designed by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. The piece, made of metal rulers, was created for the gala’s theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, as well as the dress code which was described as Tailored For You.

While being worked on by her style team, the actor was filmed rapping Minaj’s verse in the 2010 hit monster, the musician’s collaboration with Ye (then known as Kanye West). Ortega was cheered on by her team before smiling at the end of the clip.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted warmly to the clip with one posting: “The hand on hip while rapping Nicki’s verse Jenna really head barb”. Minaj’s fanbase are referred to as Barbz, a reference to one of the artist’s alter-egos, The Harajuku Barbie, and now used to describe fans in general.

Others used the clip as an indicator of Ortega’s status, with one writing: “Jenna’s got bars, the Met’s gonna be lit”, and another adding “talent recognises talent”.

Also Lorde dropped hints about her forthcoming album ‘Virgin’, and Katy Perry had to confirm to fans that she was not in attendance after deepfakes of her at the event went viral.

Recently, Nicki Minaj shared snippets of new song on Instagram, teasing fans by saying: “I have a surprise”.

Lindsey Buckingham Assaulted In Santa Monica According To Authorities

Lindsey Buckingham was reportedly the victim of an attack by a woman while heading into an appointment in Santa Monica, California, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC4 Investigates.

NBC4 Investigates reports that Buckingham had just walked into the building when a woman allegedly threw a substance at him before quickly leaving the area. Authorities believe the individual may have learned the details of his appointment in advance and waited for him before he arrived.

Sources from law enforcement also told NBC4 Investigates that the suspect is believed to be someone Buckingham has encountered before. At the time of reporting, no one had been taken into custody, though officers indicated that an arrest could happen soon.

Billboard has contacted Buckingham’s representatives along with the Santa Monica Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department for additional details.

The incident comes only a few months after Buckingham and his former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Stevie Nicks re released their 1973 collaborative album Buckingham Nicks in September. Despite their well known complicated history, the two shared a joint message on Instagram during the release, writing, “Buckingham Nicks is out now. We’re so happy this album is getting a second life. We hope you love it.”

After its re release, the album entered the Billboard 200 for the first time, opening at No. 11. Fleetwood Mac have placed 31 releases on the chart, including their 1977 album Rumours, which held the No. 1 position for 31 weeks. Buckingham himself has also appeared on the chart with 10 solo releases.

Just days before the reported Santa Monica incident, Buckingham posted a video on Instagram where he spoke about his enthusiasm for the solo album he is currently working on, along with a forthcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary being produced by Apple Original Films.
