More roles have been cast in The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event, with David Morrissey, Leanne Best and Bobby Schofield among the actors set to portray figures from the legendary band’s inner circle.

The films, directed by Sam Mendes and produced by Sony Pictures, Neal Street Productions and Apple Corps, are all scheduled for release on April 7, 2028, despite earlier reports suggesting they would be released separately. Each movie will be told from the viewpoint of a different band member, and the project marks the first time a film has been granted full rights to use the Beatles’ discography.

In June 2024, Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan were confirmed to portray The Beatles, with later updates revealing Dickinson as John Lennon, Mescal as Paul McCartney and Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Charlie Rowe had originally been named as part of the lineup, but it was eventually announced that Joseph Quinn would complete the quartet as George Harrison.

Now, Morrissey (The Walking Dead) has been confirmed to take on the role of McCartney’s father Jim, while Line Of Duty actress Best, who Rolling Stone reported is the niece of former Beatles drummer Pete, will portray Lennon’s Aunt Mimi. The Covenant actor Schofield will play Neil Aspinall, the band’s road manager and childhood friend of McCartney and Harrison.

Additional casting includes Daniel Hoffmann Gill (Sherwood) as roadie Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) as press officer Derek Taylor and Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) as music manager Allen Klein. Harry Lloyd (Game Of Thrones) will portray the band’s producer George Martin, while Happy Valley’s James Norton has been confirmed in the role of manager Brian Epstein, as previously reported in October.

They join Dickinson, Mescal, Keoghan and Quinn, along with Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood and Mia McKenna Bruce, who are set to portray Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd and Maureen Starkey respectively.

Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized After Getting Sick During Moulin Rouge! The Musical Performance

Megan Thee Stallion was taken to hospital after becoming unwell during her appearance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Tuesday evening.

The Savage hitmaker, whose real name is Megan Pete, began her planned eight week engagement in the production last week, taking on the role of Harold Zidler. The show is currently running at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.

However, according to a statement from the production team, Megan had to step away from the show after she began experiencing health issues.

"During Tuesday night's production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated," a representative shared. "We will share additional updates as more information becomes available."

Meanwhile, Megan’s hairstylist Kellon Deryck also reached out to fans, asking them to send their support to the rapper.

"Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital," he wrote.

At this time, spokespersons for the 31 year old performer have not released any new information.

Megan has made history as the first female identifying artist to take on the role of Zidler, a character first played by Danny Burstein, in any global production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

"Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honour," the Hot Girl Summer artist said previously. "I've always believed in pushing myself creatively and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I'm excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I'm up for the challenge and can't wait for the Hotties (her fans) to see a new side of me."

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is scheduled to end its Broadway run on 26 July, bringing a seven year run to a close.
