Shakira Reveals When And Where Her Spain Residency Will Take Place

Shakira is set to bring her record breaking global tour to Madrid this fall with a unique concept. The Colombian pop icon will present a three night residency inside the Shakira Stadium, a custom built 4.2 acre space that will combine film, food, literature and curated exhibitions personally selected by the singer under the theme Es Latina.

The shows are scheduled for September 25 through September 27 at the Iberdrola Music venue located in the Villaverde area south of Madrid, according to an announcement made by Live Nation on Friday March 20. The temporary venue is designed to create a fully immersive environment, similar to recent European concert concepts such as Adele’s Munich residency in 2024, which focused on enhancing both production quality and fan experience.

This news arrives shortly after Shakira confirmed she would be bringing her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to Spain with a specially designed production. “I’m going to go all out because Live Nation is preparing a stadium for these concerts. It will be called Estadio Shakira,” the singer said in a preview clip from her interview on RTVE’s Al Cielo Con Ella released March 15. “It’s going to be something out of this world, a production that I don’t think has been seen before in Spain.”

The announcement also comes following her recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination.

Since launching on February 11, 2025, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has continued through this year and has already made history. According to Billboard Boxscore, the tour became the highest grossing tour ever by a Hispanic artist, earning 421.6 million dollars and selling 3.3 million tickets across 86 concerts.

That success was also reflected in Mexico City, where Shakira set new attendance records at GNP Seguros Stadium with 13 sold out concerts that together sold more than 800,000 tickets. She later closed her time in Mexico with a massive free concert at the Zócalo on March 1 that attracted 400,000 attendees. Tickets for the Madrid residency will become available starting March 27.

Before heading to Spain, Shakira is also scheduled to perform on May 2 at another globally recognized venue, Copacabana Beach in Brazil. Event organizers are expecting a crowd of at least one million people, similar to the massive audiences that gathered for Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga in 2025.

Dave Grohl Opens Up About Going Quiet After Affair Confession

Dave Grohl has shared that he chose to step away from outside noise after going public with his admission that he had been unfaithful in his marriage.

The Foo Fighters singer shocked many followers in September 2024 when he posted a message on Instagram revealing that he had welcomed a child with another woman.

At the time, he said he planned to take responsibility for his newborn daughter while also working to rebuild the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum and their children, saying he hoped to "earn their forgiveness".

In a conversation with The Guardian released on Friday, Grohl spoke about what it was like to be open about his personal mistake.

"I had to turn everything off, one of those things being my concern for what other people think," the 57 year old explained. "Being able to shut off that part of yourself can be sometimes a very healthy exercise in considering life within your immediate radius. Not giving all of that so much currency within yourself that it can completely destroy yourself."

The former Nirvana drummer also shared that he has been attending therapy sessions six days each week for the past 70 weeks. When asked whether the controversy played a role in that decision, he responded, "There were so many things that led me to this therapy."

When asked to expand further, Grohl said, "I have to be perfectly honest. Writing songs and writing lyrics about these things is sometimes enough. As far as having a deeper, longer conversation about them, I still do reserve a lot of this for my own personal life, as impersonal and public as it may seem. But I think that for many reasons, I wound up in a place that I needed to stop and sit with myself and re evaluate myself. It's an ongoing process."

He also explained that he had not properly processed his emotions after losing his bandmate Taylor Hawkins and his mother Virginia in 2022.

"Getting to the point where I was just like, I need to stop, turn everything off and find my heart," he added.

Grohl and Blum have been married since 2003 and are parents to daughters Violet, 19, Harper, 16, and Ophelia, 11.

When asked whether he feels he has repaired his family relationships, he pointed to the lyrics from the band’s upcoming album Your Favorite Toy, saying, "I think they speak volumes. Maybe more than I can speak right now."

The album is scheduled to be released on April 24.
