We sat down with The Stewarts to talk about their creative journey, inspirations, and what’s next.
PapersPlanes: How did you decide on the release strategy for your latest work?
The Stewarts: We try to clarify our goals by understanding the audience we are trying to reach.
PapersPlanes: Is there a song from your latest project that was particularly challenging to write or record?
The Stewarts: Our current song called “The Truth-Remix” was challenging to write & record because we were trying to incorporate the political dimensions of current events, which include the polarization, and misinformation, that is being dissimulated by politicians.
PapersPlanes: How have your fans responded to your latest release? Were you surprised by any reactions?
The Stewarts: Our fans have responded to our latest song by generating over 150,000 views on YouTube in less than 5 weeks, and helping the Truth-Remix becoming the Number #1 song on the Emerging 300 song charts. We are very humbled and blessed by the support from our fans.
PapersPlanes: How do you plan to promote your latest project? Any unique approaches?
The Stewarts: We are promoting our current Project by utilizing Starlight PR, YouTube, and Spotify Promotion.
PapersPlanes: How does your latest project reflect your growth as an artist?
The Stewarts: Our latest Project reflects our growth as an artist by showing a deeper confidence, and being more intentional in the recording process. It pushed us to take creative risks and experiment with new techniques.
PapersPlanes: What’s the significance of the title of your latest project?
The Stewarts: The significance of the Title of our song called the Truth-Remix is honesty under pressure, accountability of one’s actions, morals, and emotional judgment. The Truth-Remix is about stripping away denial or half-truths.
PapersPlanes: How do you plan to bring your latest project to life during live performances?
The Stewarts: We plan to bring our latest project to life during life performances – our live show is where the project really breathes by translating the core themes into an immersive experience, which includes audience interaction moments.
PapersPlanes: What are you most excited about with the release of your latest project?
The Stewarts: We are most excited about our latest release – when the listeners connect with our song in their own way. Allowing the song to resonate and bring excitement and happiness to our fans.
PapersPlanes: How do you approach the balance between experimenting with new sounds and staying true to your signature style in your latest work?
The Stewarts: We stay balanced by knowing our core sound. Test and reflect, and experiment with new sounds with Intention, i.e. such as what purpose does the new sound serve.
PapersPlanes: How do you feel about the critical reception of your latest project?
The Stewarts: We are very pleased with the reception of our latest project. As the lyrics of our song say – Everybody got something to say, about the problems of today, open up your mind, then you will see, the truth is there, if you believe, do you swear to tell the truth. The truth will definitely open up your mind.
