A$AP Rocky has spoken about an awkward and uncomfortable moment from the first time he crossed paths with his partner Rihanna.

The 37 year old artist reflected on how he first met the Umbrella singer, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2019.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening, Rocky admitted that their initial meeting left him feeling embarrassed.

“It was crazy,” he said while thinking back on the encounter. “We met outside of a nightclub, ironically, here in New York. I wasn't famous at the time. She was obviously Rihanna.”

He explained that because he had not yet reached stardom, he struggled to get past the venue’s entrance.

“And I couldn't get in,” the rapper explained. “The bouncers didn't want to let me in, and I was with my friend, the late great Virgil Abloh, and Matthew Williams.”

He went on to describe the tense exchange that followed. “You know, we kind of was getting into it with the bouncers and she, kind of, came out and we locked eyes right away.”

Rocky told Jimmy Fallon that the moment left him feeling completely thrown off.

“And, you know, I was a little embarrassed that she caught me, like, you know, bickering with the guard and stuff like that,” he confessed.

When Fallon asked whether Rihanna, also 37, stepped in to help him get inside the club, Rocky simply answered, “No,” which drew laughter from the studio audience.

Rocky and Rihanna, who had known each other since 2012, welcomed their first son Rza in May 2022. They later had a second son, Riot, in August 2023, followed by the birth of their daughter Rocki in September 2025.

Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized After Getting Sick During Moulin Rouge! The Musical Performance

Megan Thee Stallion was taken to hospital after becoming unwell during her appearance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Tuesday evening.

The Savage hitmaker, whose real name is Megan Pete, began her planned eight week engagement in the production last week, taking on the role of Harold Zidler. The show is currently running at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.

However, according to a statement from the production team, Megan had to step away from the show after she began experiencing health issues.

"During Tuesday night's production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated," a representative shared. "We will share additional updates as more information becomes available."

Meanwhile, Megan’s hairstylist Kellon Deryck also reached out to fans, asking them to send their support to the rapper.

"Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital," he wrote.

At this time, spokespersons for the 31 year old performer have not released any new information.

Megan has made history as the first female identifying artist to take on the role of Zidler, a character first played by Danny Burstein, in any global production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

"Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honour," the Hot Girl Summer artist said previously. "I've always believed in pushing myself creatively and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I'm excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I'm up for the challenge and can't wait for the Hotties (her fans) to see a new side of me."

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is scheduled to end its Broadway run on 26 July, bringing a seven year run to a close.
