Pooh Shiesty has reportedly been taken into custody following allegations that he was involved in the robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane.

The Memphis artist, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., was detained by federal agents on Wednesday (April 1). According to TMZ, he was arrested alongside Big30 and six additional individuals, all facing charges connected to robbery and kidnapping.

According to the Department of Justice, Pooh Shiesty, Big30, and several others are accused of entering a Dallas recording studio on January 10, where multiple people present were allegedly robbed. Gucci Mane is said to have been among those involved in the incident.

Investigators also claim that Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., may have played a role in the situation.

Authorities say Shiesty arranged a meeting with Gucci Mane and other industry figures under the pretense of discussing business agreements related to his recording deal. A spokesperson for the DOJ stated that the group then allegedly carried out what was described as a coordinated armed takeover.

Prosecutors allege that one person was forced to sign paperwork related to a contract release while under threat of a firearm. The group also faces accusations of taking money and jewellery from those present.

Reports from WFAA state that one individual was allegedly choked during the incident to the point where they nearly lost consciousness. Big30 is also accused of standing at the entrance to stop anyone from leaving.

Federal agents also carried out a search of Shiesty’s residence in Memphis on Wednesday.

“The victims in this case came to Dallas to conduct legitimate business and they were met with firearms and violence,” Ryan Raybould, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, where the complaint was filed, said at a news conference Thursday, per AP News.

As of now, neither Pooh Shiesty nor Gucci Mane have issued public statements regarding the situation.

The rapper joined Gucci Mane’s 1017 label in 2020 and quickly gained recognition following the release of his 2021 mixtape Shiesty Season.

In 2022, he received a five year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a firearms conspiracy charge connected to a shooting that took place in October 2020 at a hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Authorities said a 28 year old man was shot in the buttocks during that incident.

He ultimately served three years and was released last October. His return to music included the single “FDO,” which debuted at Number 12 on the Hot 100. At the time prosecutors say the alleged robbery and kidnapping took place, he was reportedly under home detention.

Lindsey Buckingham Assaulted In Santa Monica According To Authorities

Lindsey Buckingham was reportedly the victim of an attack by a woman while heading into an appointment in Santa Monica, California, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC4 Investigates.

NBC4 Investigates reports that Buckingham had just walked into the building when a woman allegedly threw a substance at him before quickly leaving the area. Authorities believe the individual may have learned the details of his appointment in advance and waited for him before he arrived.

Sources from law enforcement also told NBC4 Investigates that the suspect is believed to be someone Buckingham has encountered before. At the time of reporting, no one had been taken into custody, though officers indicated that an arrest could happen soon.

Billboard has contacted Buckingham’s representatives along with the Santa Monica Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department for additional details.

The incident comes only a few months after Buckingham and his former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Stevie Nicks re released their 1973 collaborative album Buckingham Nicks in September. Despite their well known complicated history, the two shared a joint message on Instagram during the release, writing, “Buckingham Nicks is out now. We’re so happy this album is getting a second life. We hope you love it.”

After its re release, the album entered the Billboard 200 for the first time, opening at No. 11. Fleetwood Mac have placed 31 releases on the chart, including their 1977 album Rumours, which held the No. 1 position for 31 weeks. Buckingham himself has also appeared on the chart with 10 solo releases.

Just days before the reported Santa Monica incident, Buckingham posted a video on Instagram where he spoke about his enthusiasm for the solo album he is currently working on, along with a forthcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary being produced by Apple Original Films.
